Troy Keller

January 27, 1970 — July 6, 2020

Garfield

Troy Micah Keller, the son of Dale and Ruth (Schold) Keller, was born on January 27, 1970, in Portland Oregon.  His family moved to Alexandria, MN where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1988.  He continued his education by attending Willmar Technical College and receiving a degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling.  Troy met the love of his life, Patricia Marcus and they were united in marriage on September 12, 1992 in Roseland, MN.  Together they raised three children and gathered many as foster parents, many of which considered Troy and Patricia as their forever parents.

Troy and his family lived in Danube, MN where he volunteered on the fire department and worked as an EMT, before moving to Ogilvie.  He continued working as an EMT and as a youth minister.  Troy and his family lived in a few other communities before moving to Garfield.  Troy worked at Cornerstone Church, Viking Speedway, and currently with People’s Express.

Fishing, hunting, archery, being outdoors, and working with his hands were all favorite hobbies of Troy.  However, hardwater fishing was his favorie time of year.  Troy would count down the days until the lakes were frozen.  The day Troy died, was 168 days to “Hardwater”.  Troy was big man with a big heart who had a great sense of humor.  He was a man, who could always be counted on being there to help a friend through tough times and give honest, straight to the point, and sound advice.   His faith in God, guided him to help numerous people throughout his life.  He was a “Best Friend” and mentor to many people.

Troy’s greatest treasure was his family.  His best friend was his wife, Patricia.  Together they lived life with fun, adventure, and love.  Troy’s children, grandchildren, and all his foster children he helped raise over the years were deeply loved and cherished.  He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Troy M. Keller died on Monday, July 6, 2020 at his home.  He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Keller; daughter, Tisha Keller; sons, Dacotah Keller, Tanner (Stephanie) Keller, and Devon Jespersen; grandchildren, Addison and Khloe Galstad, Grace Bailey, Colt Carlson-Jespersen, and Victoria Jespersen; brothers, Scott (Denise) Keller and Jason (Michelle) Keller; sister, Diana Wagner; many nieces and nephews.  Troy was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Dale; brother, Rodney Jobe and son, Jared Ryan Corne.
