Rose Marie was born on November 13, 1961, in Adrian, Minnesota the daughter of Louis and Virginia (Strouth) Ripperger. She grew up in the Fulda and Adrian area and graduated from Fulda High School. She furthered her education attending Pipestone and Alexandria Technical College where she received her Associates Degree.
On May 19, 1990 Rose was united in marriage to Brian Engstrom at St. Petri Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Evansville all their married life where they raised their two daughters. Rose worked at Steinbring Chevrolet for over 20 years and while there held several different positions throughout her career. For the past nine years she was an Office Administrative Assistant at Midwest Machinery. For the past 15 years during her time away from work she also enjoyed working at the different bars that have been in Evansville and was currently bartending at Backroads Steakhouse.
Rose was a wonderful wife, mom and grandma. She loved spending time with her two daughters and grandkids, along with fishing in Canada with Brian. She will be remembered as a hardworking, loyal, dependable person and someone who would drop everything to help her family and friends. Rose liked to bake and cook for others. It could be for a church event, monthly work birthdays, volunteering events or a family gathering. No matter the event, she was always sure to have enough food to go around.
Rose passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. She is survived by her husband, Brian; daughters: Kari (Erick) Anderson, Brandi (Andy) Mandt; five grandchildren: Brennan, Brianna, Elizabeth, McKinley, Brooklyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Joseph, James.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, 1:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
