Ramona Pekarek

Ramona Lynn Pekarek, 48 of Wendell MN passed away August 17, 2020.

Ramona was born on January 21st, 1972 in Alexandria, MN to David and Linda (Uhde) Schackel. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran church in Carlos, MN. She graduated from Jefferson High school in Alexandria. MN.

Ramona Lynn Schackel and Mark Steven Pekarek got married on August 5, 1995. Two years later they had their first son, Kenneth Lee Pekarek. Thirteen months later they had their daughter, Amy Marie Pekarek.  Ramona’s life revolved around her children and her hobbies, taking care of anyone she could or any animals. She adored her three dogs. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, anything she could do with yarn. She also enjoyed painting, going on walks, tending to gardens. She loved the outdoors, she loved living in the country and dreamed of having her own farm out in the middle of nowhere. Ramona dreamed of turning her house into a sanctuary for those who needed help. Ramona loved her Jewish heritage she understood that Jesus her Lord and Savior was Jewish and wanted to know and embrace all she could to live in the fullest knowledge of her heritage. She took Hebrew classes and studied the Jewish language and culture she honored and celebrated this through customs, culture and symbolism.

Ramona is survived by her children: Kenneth, Amy; parents: Dave & Linda Schackel; brother, Andrew; sister, Lora (Brian) Ronholdt, nephew, Tanner Ronholdt, niece, Lilly Ronholdt; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ramona is preceded in death by her grandparents: Louie & Eileen Schackel, Walter & Hildegarde Uhde.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.  Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be at the Carlos Prairie Cemetery, Carlos, MN.
