Myron “Mickey” Delbert Fezler, the son of Kenneth and Ethel (Personius) Fezler, was born on July 9, 1933, in Alexandria, MN.  He graduated from Central High School in Alexandria and then began working in the grocery business.  Mickey met the love of his life, Joan Trisko at the grocery store.  After dating for five years, to allow Joan to finish her schooling, they were united in marriage on October 20, 1958, in St. Paul Park, MN.  To this union, two children were born, Susan and Lisa.  Together they raised their family in Alexandria.  Mickey took a job with District #206 as a custodian at the Washington Elementary School.  He loved interacting with the children and was able to keep an eye on his grandchildren at school as well.  He also worked part-time at the Downtown Liquor Store.  Mickey took pride in the work he did and made sure his work was completed before he went home.

Mickey was a member of the Eagles Club in Alexandria for 35 years and appreciated the friendships he had at the club.  Mickey was a kind, loving, hardworking and generous man who never took the word “family” for granted.  He enjoyed attending family get togethers at his sister-in-law Jan’s “Point”. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and splitting wood with family and friends.  Mickey watched numerous Vikings, Twins and Gopher Football games on TV with his family.  He loved traveling, trips to the casino, and taking his beloved dog Bear for walks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Fezler of Alexandria; daughters, Sue Nelson of Alexandria and Lisa (Eric) Berglin of Alexandria; grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Weber of Wahpeton, ND, Ryan (Christy) Nelson of Evansville, Justin Nelson of Alexandria, and Michael Berglin of Alexandria; great grandchildren, Alexis Nelson (Grayson Anderson) of Alexandria, Christopher Weber of Wahpeton, ND, Colton Nelson of Evansville, and Kylee Weber of Wahpeton, ND; great great granddaughter, Raelyn Anderson of Alexandria; brothers, Gerald Fezler of Cedar Lake, IN and Richard Floding of Alexandria.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents, brothers LeRoy Fezzler and Leonard “Swede” Floding.

Mickey’s family would also like to thank Diamond Willow for the wonderful care they have given Mickey for the past 6 years and to Hospice for their care these past few weeks.
