Myron "Mike" Schoeneck

Obituary

Myron “Mike” Schoeneck was born March 2, 1937, in Leaf Valley Township, to parents, Herb and Esther (Zinter) Schoeneck. He was baptized and confirmed at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.

In 1955, Mike enlisted in the United States Army and served on active duty for three years. He was stationed in Panama.  Following his service to his country, Mike retuned to Minnesota where he worked as a mechanic for various companies in Minneapolis, Fargo and Alexandria.

On June 20, 1959 Mike was united in marriage to Janis Tvrdik at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The couple was blessed with two daughters.

Mike took a job with 3M in Alexandria where he worked for twenty-three years. He retired from 3M in 1996.

Mike was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On Thursday, October 8, 2020 Mike died at the age of eighty-three years. He is survived by his loving wife, Janis Schoeneck; daughters, Kim Engle and husband, Dan, and Wendy Hawkins and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Jodi Mouratis and husband, Demetri, Cory Engle and wife, Hollie, Sara Hoffman and husband, Isaac, Seth Engle and fiancé, Jennie Mounsdon, Brandon Hawkins and Jeremy Hawkins; great grandchildren, Yianni Mouratis, William Engle , Silas Engle, Natalee Hoffman, Connor Hoffman and Alexander Hoffman; brother, Vince Schoeneck and wife, Lucille; and sister, Margine Benson and husband, Harvey.

A private family service will be held Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley, MN. Live streaming of the service is available at www.andersonfuneral.net beginning at 2 PM Friday. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory.
