Mildred "Millie" Floding

Mildred “Millie” Elaine (Peterson) Floding was born to Edwin and Emma (Hedeen) Peterson on August 24, 1936, in La Grand Township, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon, MN. Millie attended grade school in Brandon and later went to Central High School in Alexandria. She continued her education at Alexandria Technical and Community College earning her associate’s degree. Millie started working as an office manager for Dr. Lawler’s dental practice. She also worked at other various businesses throughout the years while also caring for her children

On March 14, 1953, Millie was united in marriage to Lloyd Edwin Floding. To this union, the couple was blessed with four children: Roger, Janet, Katherine and Lorinda.

Millie enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, camping, fishing, sewing, cooking, and keeping a fine house. In her later years she liked playing cards, diamond painting, and many other crafts. Millie’s greatest joy was being with her family. She loved laughing and dancing in the kitchen with Lloyd, watching her children grow up, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Millie passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her three daughters: Jan (Terry) Howard of De Pere, WI, Kathy (Kelly Rud) Floding of Alexandria and Lorie (Larry Houle) Floding of Scandia; seven grandchildren: Lisa (Steven) Zaun, Trevor (Kacy) Howard, Kayla (Chris) Lence, Christina (Kent) Parker, Kody Klimek, Steven Floding and Nicholas Floding; eleven great-grandchildren: Gavin Howard, Kenya, Kaymen and Jaxson Parker, Elodie and Paige Howard, Roman, Declan and Azalea Zaun, Blakely, Bennett and Aubrey Lence; and her sister-in-law: Marcine Floding. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 62 years: Lloyd; her son: Roger; three brothers: Ralph (Adeline), Donald (Midge), and Lloyd (Arlene) Peterson; and two sisters: Leila (Conrad) Hanson and Irene (Bill) Chattin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16, 2022, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Anderson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Garfield, MN.
