Marjean Larson

Marjean Kay Larson, the daughter of Robert and Wanda (Moffitt) Lepper, was born on August 10, 1942, in Pipestone, MN.  She graduated from Pipestone High School in the class of 1960.  She continued her education at Augustana college. She married Edward “Eddie” Dykstra on November 4, 1961, in Holland, MN and they had two daughters, Wendy and Vicky. In the fall of 1967, Marjean and Eddie were in a tragic accident that took Eddie’s life and seriously injured Marjean. Marjean recovered and then married Luther “Bud” Larson on March 30, 1969, in Holland, MN.  To this marriage a daughter, Kelly was born. Marjean and Bud expanded their family when they adopted Michael and William.

Marjean and Bud lived in Minneota, Olivia, Danube, Canby and Winthrop before moving to Alexandria in the fall of 2009.  Marjean loved being a stay-at-home mom raising their children and then worked as a bank teller until her retirement.

Marjean was a sweet, kind, compassionate, and friendly person.  She loved to sit and talk with people. She liked to cook, bake, garden, knit and crochet in her spare time.  She also liked to play bridge and couples golf with her friends.  She loved family gatherings and decorating her house for the holidays. Marjean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and loyal friend to many.   She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marjean K. Larson, died on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 78 years old.  She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Luther “Bud” Larson of Alexandria; daughters, Wendy (Gerry) Fishlock of Eagan, Vicky (Jeff) Bruce of Farmington, and Kelly (Tom) Sander of Alexandria; sons, Mike (Janell) Larson of Victoria and Bill Larson of Wadena; 12 grandchildren, Ahmi (Jesse) Beppu, Ashleigh (Marty) Lippert, Derek Beppu, Jacob Lippert, Rebekah (Nick) Hildreth, Jesse Sander, Savik (Isabella) Fraguela, Shane (Kaitlyn) Sander, Tory Sander, Owen Larson, Aisley Larson, and Emerson Heart-Larson; 4 great grandchildren, Garrett, Brinley, Krew, and Greyson; sister, Connie Skulborstad of Rosemount; brother, David (Jean) Lepper of Minnetonka; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Wanda Lepper and first husband Edward “Eddie” Dykstra.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 2:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

A visitation will take place for one hour prior to the Memorial Service at the church on Tuesday.

Interment will be in the Holland Cemetery on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 1:00pm. Holland, MN.
