Linda Scofield

August 14, 1947 — March 4, 2021

Alexandria

Linda Rae (McDaniel) Scofield was born on August 14, 1947, in San Francisco, California the daughter of James and Esther (Siirila) McDaniel.  Shortly after her birth, the family moved to North Carolina where they lived until 1949 when they moved Minnesota.  They moved around Minnesota during her childhood before settling in Sebeka in 1960 where she graduated from Sebeka High School in 1965.  Linda furthered her education at Wadena Technical College.

While going to school in Wadena, Linda met the love of her life Harry Allen Scofield at the roller rink. The couple was married on March 4, 1966, at the Methodist Church in Sebeka.  They brought their first child into this world, Paulynn.  They moved to Clovis, NM and lived for a year.  Allen left for Vietnam and Linda returned to Minnesota.  Upon returning from Vietnam, Linda and Allen lived in Minot, ND until the end the end of his service.

In 1969, the family moved to Alexandria area and then made their home on a farm near Garfield in 1976 where they welcomed three more children (Adam, Randy and Shanna) and raised their family.  Family was everything to Linda.  When she first started having health issues her son, Adam, would tell her “you need to get better for your grandbabies”.  They were Nana’s world and put the sparkle back in her eyes and made her feel better instantly.  She cared about everyone and welcomed all into her home and was a second mom to many of the kid’s friends.

She also enjoyed being outdoors, hunting with family and friends, watching birds and making baby quilts for her grandchildren and friends.  Linda loved going to thrift stores and garage sales with her best friend, Sharon Bursch, in search of toys and special things for her children and grandbabies.

Linda passed suddenly on Thursday, March 4, 2021 in her home.  She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harry Allen; Children: Paulynn (Gary) Terhark, Harry Adam (friend, Julie), Randy (Rebecca), Shanna (fiancé, Rich Bodde), grandchildren: Tara (Mark) Ranweiler, Phillip Del Vecchio, Allison Bodde, Michael Scofield, Lincoln Bodde, Abigail Scofield; great grandchildren: Grayson & Parker Ranweiler; brothers and sisters: Joy (Ed) Waln, Patrick McDaniel, Amy Weappa, Warren John Weappa, sisters-in-law Luella Schlichting, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
