Hildegarde Ziegelmann

Hildegarde Mae (Guenther) Ziegelmann was born July 14, 1919, to Frank and Celia (Wilm) Guenther in Leaf Valley Township. She attended school In Leaf Valley Township.

On October 4, 1942, Hildegarde married Olaf Ziegelmann and they moved to Alexandria. Hildegarde worked doing laundry and ironings for people on the lakes as well as cleaning houses.  She loved planting vegetable gardens, growing tulips and gladiolus, baking, and making quilts. She was well known in the family for her cookies, peppernuts and pies.  She loved canning her fruits and vegetables and for several years had seven gardens going at one time.
Hildegarde was full of life, loved to go dancing and worked hard throughout her life.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Hildegarde and Olaf had one child, a son, Gary Olaf who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Olaf as well as her two sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her five grandchildren Tom (Stephanie), John of Utah, Gary of Colorado. Michael of Minneapolis and Rhonda of Chisago City and several great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Tonita of Sun City, Az and several nieces and nephews.

Hildegarde M. Ziegelmann died on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria at the age of 101 years old.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria with the Reverend Don Wilke officiating.

A Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment will be at Kinkead Cemetery.    Casket Bearers are Tom Ziegelmann, John Ziegelmann, Mike Ziegelmann, Rhonda Ziegelmann, Brian Ziegelmann, and Dennis Barnack.

Due to COVID-19 health mandates, everyone will be required to social distance and wearing of facial coverings.
