Frederick "Fred" Jahner

Frederick Frank “Fred” Jahner, was born on September 9, 1942, in Richardton, ND to Frank and Eva (Sticka) Jahner. He grew up on a farm in Rural Mott, ND and was the oldest of 11 children. Fred attended country school and later graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New England, ND. He continued his education at Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. Following his schooling, Fred started working at the Coca Cola Bottling Company on May 15, 1962 in Dickinson, ND. He enjoyed working there for 45 years until he retired in February 2007. Fred married Patricia Johnson on January 25, 1965 and they became a family of 8 with the birth of their 6 children. The couple retired to Alexandria, MN where Fred enjoyed family life, gardening, and working around his home and yard. He was a loving husband, father, and enjoyed his grandchildren. Fred was a man of deep faith and an inspiration to all who knew him.

Fred died on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Alomere Health in Alexandria, MN at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife: Pat; his six children: Mitchell Jahner, Mary Pat Jahner, Jann (Darrin) Neameyer, Dean (Amy) Jahner, Mark (Rachel) Jahner, and Dianna (Jeremiah) Trnka; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; and 6 sisters. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and 2 nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 6, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held from 5-6 PM on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Anderson Funeral Home. A prayer service and time of sharing will begin at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church. This service will be live-streamed and recorded for family and friends to view from Fred’s obituary page on the Anderson Funeral Home website at 2:00 PM on Monday. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
