Dorothy Rose was born on April 29, 1947, in Beulah, North Dakota the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Feist) Schutt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beulah. Dorothy graduated from Beulah High School in 1966.
Dorothy worked as a waitress at a restaurant in Beulah and this is where she met the love of her life, Marvin. The couple was married on January 15, 1972, at St. Joseph’s Church. After their marriage the couple moved to Marvin’s farm in Moe Township where they raised their two children.
She loved living the farm lifestyle. When she was young Dorothy enjoyed riding horse and throughout her days on the farm she loved gardening, raising the farm animals and playing with the kids. According to other kids Dorothy was the first adult that showed kids adults could be fun. She loved you for who you were.
Dorothy died on Monday, March 15, 2021. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marvin; her two children: Kevin (Jolene), Jennifer (Jeff) Stormo; grandchildren: Alexis, Katie, Stacey; brothers: Sebastian Schutt of Hazen, ND; James (Susan) Schutt; sister, Rosemary Wallender of Wahpeton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20th, with the Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. CDC guidelines of social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed. For those unable to attend the service will be live streamed.
