Obituary

Donald “Donnie” Tvrdik, was born on July 24, 1944, in Alexandria, Minnesota, the son of Thomas and LaVera (Chermak) Tvrdik.  The family lived in Lake Mary Township where Donnie attended country school through the 8th grade.  He than helped his dad farm.  Donnie served his country in the Army National Guard for six years and was honorably discharged on August 21, 1968. 

On February 8, 1974, Donald was united in marriage to Jeanne Anderson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.  To this union three children were born. 

Donnie was a hard working man.  As a young man he drove milk truck and then went to work as a press operator for Alexandria Extrusion for 36 years.  During this time he kept farming the land and raising beef cattle. 

Donnie’s family was his life.  He cherished the time spent together.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just going for a drive. 

Donald died on Sunday, March 7, 2021.  He is survived by his children: Sean (Michelle), Scott (Julie), Alicia &  Matt Hvezda; grandchildren: Andria (Isaac), Blake (Gabby), Bret (Sarah), Akeley, Camille, Ali, Aaliyah, Ashleigh; brothers: Duane (Sharon), Doug (Theresa), Thomas (Eileen); sister, Diane (Verney); many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, 4:00 – 7:00 PM at St. John Nepomuk Church rural Lowry.  Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 12, 2021, 11:00 AM at St. John Nepomuk Church with burial at Bohemian Independent Cemetery.  CDC guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing will be observed.
