Diane Winter

June 27, 1950 — November 3, 2019

Osakis, Minnesota

Diane (Baltes) Winter was born to LaVerne and Jeanette (Uphus) Baltes on June 27, 1950 in Elrosa, MN.  Diane and her family moved to St. Paul, MN where she graduated from Harding High School in 1968.  She was united in marriage to Richard Winter in July of 1973.  Together they made their home in Alexandria.  Diane worked at Fingerhut for many years and then with group homes as assistant program director.  She retired and moved to Osakis in 2014.

Diane enjoyed doing arts and crafts.  She was a good cook and loved to bake.  She liked to play cards, games, go to casinos, and was an avid reader.  She especially enjoyed her group of ladies she had lunch and played cards with at the Galeon.

We will miss Diane.  We will not say goodbye but see you soon, when we walk with Jesus to our eternal home.

On the 3rd day of November 2019, Jesus came and gently took Diane’s hand to walk her home to His heavenly realm, rejoicing in her home coming.  Diane is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Winter; parents, sister, Linda Klobes; parents -in-law, Oswald (Agnes) Winter; sister-in-law and husband, Jean (Junior) Clark, sister-in-law, Delores Winter, brother-in-law, Mike Mikkelson; grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Diane is survived by her brother and sisters, John (Dee) Baltes, Mary (Jim) Leukam, Carol (Herb) Hoppe, and Barbara Mikkelson; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol (Dave) Hainze, John (Kathleen) Winter, Jerome (Wendy) Winter; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.
