Dennis John Nack was born on July 24, 1948, to Gerhard and Arlene (Buhman) Nack in Alexandria, MN. He was baptized on August 29, 1948, and confirmed on April 15, 1962, at Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Lincoln Elementary School, then transferred to Zion Lutheran Parochial School, and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 1966.

Dennis met Sharon Affeldt in 1965 and they were married one year later on November 11, 1966 at Bethesda Lutheran Church.  They were blessed with 4 children, Kimberly, Kerrie, Jessica, and Colton. They moved to Lakeville, MN for Dennis to work with his uncle, Phil Kalweit in auto restoration. Later, he worked at HR Buck Printed Circuits and then the family moved to Cannon Falls, MN where Dennis worked various positions at the Cenex warehouse. In 1986, they moved back to Alexandria and opened a bait-tackle-archery-electronic business named The Sportsden, which they owned for seven years. Following the closing of the store, Dennis worked for Ace Hardware.

During his life, he survived polio, a broken back, a double lung transplant that was performed at the University in Iowa City, colon cancer, liver cancer, AND : ) being married to the same woman for 56 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, hunting, trapping, fishing, woodworking, and playing cards and games. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be dearly missed.

Dennis John Nack passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in his residence in Nelson, MN at the age of 73. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Kimberly (Brian) Banister, Kerrie (Scott) Hieb, Jessica (William) Hoppe, and Colton (Jill) Nack; siblings, Donald (Carol) Nack, Sherryl (Dennis) Stramer, Darlene (David) Rose, Darryl (Janie) Nack, and Debra (Don) Severson; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; baby sister, Evelyn; and brother-in-laws, Leon Klinghagen, Dean Affeldt, and Brent Affeldt.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Carlos, MN.
