Billy Reed

Billy Kevin Reed, the son of Arthur and Eldonna (Ahrendt) Reed, was born on September 12, 1961 with Downs Syndrome, in Browerville, Minnesota.  Billy grew up on a farm near Clarissa, MN.  At age 19, Billy moved to the Project New Hope Group Home in Starbuck, MN and later to the Prairie Community Services Group Home in Alexandria.

Billy was kind, loving, funny young man.  He enjoyed bowling, dancing and attending Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  He loved to watch the “Three Stooges”, “Keystone Cop’s”, the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings on television.

He has forever left an impression on the hearts and souls of those he met in his lifetime.  Billy’s infectious laughter and giggles will be remembered as well as his heart of gold.

Billy K. Reed, died on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Bethany on the Lake at the age of 58 years old. He is survived by his loving sister, Connie (Jerry) Schultz of Fort Wayne, IN; nephew, Jonathan Reed of Indianapolis, IN; and numerous cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Tim Schiller officiating.  A visitation will take place on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 5-7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Geneva Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Prairie Community Services Group Home.
