Belinda Darlene Zaske-Wink

June 24, 1976 ~ May 6, 2020 (age 43)

Belinda was born on June 24, 1976, in Alexandria, Minnesota the daughter of James and Bernice (Gardynski) Zaske.  As a young girl she loved the outdoors going fishing with her dad and brothers and hunting in later years.  Belinda loved sports and was a part of the volleyball, basketball and softball teams during her schooling years.  Belinda graduated from Jefferson High School in 1994.

She attended college for a short time and returned to Alexandria where she started working for the Postal Service as a rural carrier in the fall of 1996.  Belinda continued her love of sports golfing and playing softball.  While playing softball she met Glen and the two were married on May 24, 1997 at Zion Church in Alexandria. To this union a son, Kyle was born.

They both had a huge passion for the outdoors fishing many tournaments and taking hunting trips together.  Many hours were spent on the water or in the woods.  Out of this passion Commander Rods was born.

She was a very determined person.  If she set her sites on something she didn’t quit until she accomplished it.  One of those goals was catching a 30” walleye.   Summer of 2019 she caught a 30.75”.

Belinda will be remembered as a very giving person who was always trying to help people.  She inspired countless individuals whether it be her involvement in teaching kids about outdoors or on the water giving tips to anglers.  Belinda had a huge heart and was always concerned about others. Her infectious laugh and smile will be remembered by many.

Belinda died on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.  She is survived by her husband, Glen; son, Kyle; mother, Bernice “Betty” Zaske; sister, Peggy Reynolds; brothers: James Zaske Jr., Bobby Reynolds, Billy Reynolds.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Sr.

A private family service will take place on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  Because of her love of the outdoors and growing up on the chain of lakes a family procession will take place at noon from the funeral home past the Carlos Darling Bridge and the Carlos LeHomme Dieu Bridge.  If friends want to gather at the LeHomme Dieu (Rotary Beach Access), Good Shepherd Church parking lot or in the parking lot by Big Ole as the family drives by please be there by noon. A visitation to be held at a later date after restrictions for Covid-19 have been lifted.  Please leave memories on our tribute wall for the family.
