OBITUARY
Audrey Adele Peterson was born March 13, 1935 in Minot, ND, the daughter of Chester and Esther (Miller) Peterson. Chester moved his family from Minot to Detroit, MI when Audrey was two years old. Audrey grew up in Detroit where she graduated from high school.
Following her schooling she worked at various jobs as a secretary. In 1956 Audrey met Robert Sievers. The couple were united in marriage in December 1957 in Royal Oak, MI. Robert was in the US Army and was stationed in Berlin Germany. Audrey joined him there where they lived for two years.
Following Robert’s discharge from the Army the couple returned to Detroit. Audrey took a job selling women’s clothing and was able to put Robert through college. Following Robert’s graduation the couple moved to Royal Oak where they adopted their two sons, Timothy and Scott. A short while later the family moved to Syracuse, IN. In 1973 the family moved to Plymouth, MN where Audrey continued raising her children and worked part time as a lunch lady at the Sunny Hollow School. Audrey also worked at Dayton’s department store.
In 1996 Audrey and Robert retired to a home on Lake Ida near Alexandria, MN. Audrey loved flowers and flower gardening. She always liked to have fresh flowers decorating her home. She loved planting flowers and kept several large flower beds at her homes. She was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan. A perfect day for her was spent working in her gardens and listening to the Twins game on the radio, then sitting back and enjoying a good beer. Audrey loved good beer. She learned to appreciate beer while living in Germany and having one dark beer a day was something she really enjoyed. She also loved her pets. Most of all she loved Robert, her children and grandchildren.
Audrey’s health suffered several setbacks over the last eighteen years. She spent her last four and one half years receiving loving care from her family and the staff of Sharon’s Senior Services.
On Monday, April 4, 2016 Audrey died at the age of eighty-one years. She was preceded in death by her brother, Chester Peterson. Audrey is survived by her husband, Robert Sievers of Alexandria; sons, Scott Sievers and wife, Stephanie, of Springfield, IL and Timothy Sievers and wife, Maria, of Monticello, MN, and grandchildren, Sebastian, Ellinor, Madeline and Elizabeth Sievers.
