Arlene Muzik

Arlene (Tootie) Ann Botzet was born October 29, 1933, in Carlos township to Paul and Selma (Ritten) Botzet. She attended School District 69, which now stands at the Douglas County Fair Grounds. She graduated from Central High School in 1951.

On October 22, 1951, she married Glen Muzik at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River.  They farmed for many years at the Muzik family farm in Lake Mary township.  They had 3 children, Bob, Bill, and Mary.  She had 6 grandchildren and enjoyed going to their school activities and spending time with them.  Arlene was a lover of life's adventures and enjoyed traveling with friends and then later in life sharing her stories with her loved ones. She was an outdoor person, loved tending to her flowers, and enjoyed going to the farm to feed her pet cats and dogs and helping the boys around the farm. Granny was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be extremely missed.

Arlene Ann Muzik passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Bethany on the Lake at the age of 88. She is survived by her children, Bob and Deb from Lowry, Bill and Karen from Alexandria, Mary and Rick from New London.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lynn (Lindsay) Muzik of Alexandria, Kayla (Patrick) Pfeninger of Villard, Mario Reigstad of New London, Sara Reigstad of Saint Joseph, Amy (Nate) McCabe of Alexandria, and Becca (Michael) Miller of New London; and great grandchildren, Lainey and Laiken Muzik; Makenna and Emmit Pfeninger; Maya Reigstad; Rowan and Renner Haven; Lola, Ada and Burke McCabe; Avi and Aila Miller, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen in March of 2009; brothers, Ed and wife, Beverly from Carlos, and Fred from International Falls, MN; also her in-laws, Louis and Helen Muzik from Forada, Harvey Muzik from St. Cloud, and Mary Lou and Leo Unger from Alexandria.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to The American Heart Association.
