Anthony Gene Bolgrean passed away on October the 30th of 2020 at the age of 8 years old due to complications of spinal muscular atrophy type two.
Anthony was born in Glenwood, MN on November 6th, 2011 to parents, Jeff and Sierra. He was a bright and unique child who was always there to help in any way he could. His way was that of a listener to a person when they needed an ear and to garner a smile if that could help the situation. His illness tried to limit him in many ways, but never once did he let it corral in the spirit that he possessed. That was just not his way and those that knew him best saw this daily. He had a contagious personality and a sense of humor to match.
He proudly stated that he wanted to be a firefighter when he grew up as they were always there to save the day. On the other hand he wished to be a content provider online, specifically Youtube. Anthony also loved to play with cars, little dudes, legos, and especially loved gaming! His father being a gamer himself was more adept and challenged him at every turn! Yet at this point in time Anthony was starting to pull ahead of his father often being the victor in day to day battles.
Anthony would celebrate the days he could go to class, learn new things, and interact with his peers. This was the foundation he cherished and fought for. To be a Knight was an honor Anthony took great pride in.
Anthony had a great team of nurses and doctors at Gillette Childrens Specialty Hospital in St. Paul, they were with him and his family every roll of the wheel. Sierra and Jeffrey are forever grateful to the amazing team that turned into a home away from home.
Anthony’s memory will forever be cherished by his mother and father: Jeffrey and Sierra; his brother: Charles; his grandparents: Darice Whitford, Bobby Crane, and Dan and Shelley Bontjes; his uncles and aunts: Justin Bolgrean, Shannon Johnson, Jessica Gilbuena, Thomas Newman, Samantha Whitford, Sabrina Whitford, JP Crane, and Derrick Crane. As well as his cousins: Sturgis, Leon, Jacoby, and Jonah.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 5:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. A visitation will take place an hour prior to the service.
