After retiring from his sales career, Allan worked at the Alexandria Rest Stop off the interstate. He enjoyed visiting and getting to know people, and even created some pen pal friendships. Allan enjoyed gardening, feeding and watching birds, listening to the police scanner, CB radio, and making good conversation.
