Viola Woessner

Viola D. Woessner was born June 21, 1925, to Hattie Brede Leu and Robert Leu. She grew up on the family farm in Ida Township where she attended school in District 100. She was baptized and confirmed in Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley, MN.

Viola married Gerhard Woessner. They lived in Austin, MN, where they raised their son, Alfred. They returned to Alexandria when they retired. In retirement, Viola enjoyed fishing, reading, embroidery, baking cookies and muffins, and cross word puzzles. Spending time with family was her greatest joy.

Viola is survived by her son Alfred (Mary), granddaughter Jennifer Anderson, grandson Timothy Woessner (Sara), and great-grandson Parker Anderson as well as several nieces and nephews.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerhard, grandson Neil, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN with visitation one-hour prior at the funeral home. Interment will be at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, MN. Masks, social distancing and building occupancy limits are required.
