Tim was born to William and Janice (Jensen) Brede on May 16, 1960 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated in 1978 from Jefferson High School in Alexandria, MN. He attended college at UND in Grand Forks, North Dakota and Alex Tech in Alexandria where he majored in Sales and Marketing.
During his life, his passion was sales. Whether he was selling a particular item or talking with a friend, he had the gift of gab. His contagious laugh lit up the room no matter where he was.
Tim was king at being a DJ, captain of the pontoon and attempted to win every round of cards or game that was played with his family or friends. When he was not spending valuable time with his family, he enjoyed deer hunting, pheasant hunting in North Dakota and his yearly fishing trip to Red Lake catching walleyes and an occasional round of golf. Sundays were spent watching his favorite team- the Minnesota Vikings. At the end of the season, he was known to say “there’s always next year”.
Tim met his wife Laurie thru a mutual friend while working at the same computer company in Burnsville, MN (Midwest Systems). They were united in marriage on May 23, 1992. To this union, they welcomed 2 daughters, Melissa and Megan.
Tim was fortunate to move back to Alexandria in 1997 due to a job offer and raise his girls on the lake in his childhood home. He truly loved & took pride in his family and always put their needs before his own. He was very passionate in making sure all his guests were taken care of and well fed. He even mastered making his Grandma Brede’s famous caramel rolls and everybody loved them!
Despite Tim’s time on earth ended too soon, he was very strong in his faith and was honored to tell everyone about Jesus.
Tim passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Alomere Health with his loving wife Laurie by his side. He is survived by his wife, Laurie of 34 years, daughters Melissa (Everett) Fandrich and Megan Brede and grandson William Fandrich. His mom Janice, step-dad Bill, sister Jenny Syvrud, mother-in-law, Dorothy Pumper, sister-in-law Chris (Kerry) Donley, brother-in-law Bob (Lisa) Pumper, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Tim is preceded in death by his dad William, father-in-law John Pumper, grandparents, uncles and aunts.
