Theresa Louise Murray was born on November 27, 1958, in Gustine, California, to William James and Mary (Winter) Murray. She was the fourth of seven children. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Badger, Minnesota, where Theresa and her siblings grew up on a small farm and attended school. In 1972, the family moved again, this time to Kensington, Minnesota. Theresa continued her education there, graduating from Kensington High School in 1976. It was also in Kensington where she met the man she would marry and spend her life with.
Theresa married Davis Larson at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church on November 27, 1976. They settled on the Larson farm in rural Kensington, dedicating themselves to their family farm and raising their daughter, Angela. Theresa took immense pride in mowing the big yard and loved sharing the farm experience with others. She believed every child should know the joy of riding in a tractor or picking sweet corn straight from the stalk. Whether it was her own grandchildren or visiting children, she ensured that these farm experiences became unforgettable memories.
Theresa's professional journey was marked by warmth and dedication. She began at Hoffman-Kensington Elementary, where she was fondly remembered for saving the "last ride" on the tire swing. Later, she cared for the elderly as an aide at Nelson Gables/Knute Nelson in Alexandria, MN. Theresa concluded her career at Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, MN. Whether helping children, the elderly, or the sick, she found her greatest fulfillment in serving others.
Theresa’s faith was the anchor of her life. At Nora Lutheran Church, she devoted herself to teaching confirmation and kid’s club and volunteering wherever needed. Church was not just a place she attended; it was an integral part of her identity. When not outdoors or at church, she found joy in family history, reading, and crafting, with quilting becoming a beloved hobby later in life.
The light of Theresa’s life was her four grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was always present at their games, concerts, or any event, consistently showing her pride and support.
Theresa passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, after bravely battling cancer multiple times throughout her life. Despite the hardships, she faced each challenge with determination and resilience. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, many friends, and community members.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 48 years, Davis Larson; her beloved daughter Angela and her husband Joseph Radermacher of Brooten; four grandchildren: Zachary, Owen, Tessa, and Emma; and great-grandchild Callan. She is also survived by her sisters Jane (Bill) Lannoye, Holly Murray, Mary (Darwyn) Leuthard, Maureen Murray; brothers Michael Murray, Christopher Murray; sisters-in-law Susan (Steve) Nessman, Valerie (Dan) Daniels, Julie (Tim) Waggoner; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parent in-laws, Leonard and Beverly Larson and parents, William and Mary Murray
