Tammy Ruppert Johnson, a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend, died peacefully on October 12, 2024 at the age of 53. Tammy was born September 4, 1971 in Tracy, Minnesota to her adoring parents, Orville and Judy Ruppert. Tammy had three children, Conrad, Noah and Logan with her first husband Roger. In 2009, Tammy and Brandt reconnected as former high school classmates and quickly fell in love.
In 2010, she graduated from Alexandria Technical and Community College as an LPN, a hard-earned achievement as a full-time working woman and a mom of three, plus one new stepchild, Caleb. Passionate about nursing and caring for others, she went back and graduated and became an RN in 2013.
On November 2, 2018, Tammy married her long time partner and the love of her life, Brandt Johnson, outside of the historic Kirkbride building in Fergus Falls.
Tammy’s favorite ways to spend her time involved being with her family, especially if family time also meant relaxing on a beach somewhere beautiful and warm. She was a true caregiver, an excellent psychiatric nurse, and someone who believed strongly in the good of humanity.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Brandt Johnson; children: Conrad Larson, Noah Larson, Caleb Oberg, and Logan Larson; grandchildren, Oliver Larson, Everett Oberg, Jude Oberg, and Lyla Oberg; her siblings: Dennis Ruppert, Dean Ruppert, Lynn Solberg, Brian Ruppert, Joe Ruppert, Jane Burton, and Hope Schulz.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Judy and Orville Ruppert; brothers, Bill Ruppert; brother-in-law, Carl Burton; and her father-in-law, Merle Johnson.
A public visitation for Tammy will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 1:00-4:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with a prayer services starting at 4:00 PM. Tammy's son, Conrad Larson, will be officiating her service.
Tammy taught her family by example that if they were able to help others, they should, so in lieu of flowers Tammy’s family asks that you honor her memory by donating blood to your local blood bank.
