Susan L. Christensen (Seibert)

Susan Lynn Christensen was born April 23, 1947, to Robert and Lila Christensen in Grand Rapids, MN. Susan graduated from Grand Rapids high school in 1965. Susan married Richard Seibert in 1967 and later divorced. Together they had two daughters Roberta (Bobbi) and Stacee. They moved to Alexandria in 1971. Susan later remarried to David Sletten.

Susan was in food service for many years. She was a school cook in Alexandria at Zion Lutheran School, Washington Elementary and Jefferson High School. Susan continued in food service after moving to the Twin Cities. She later drove a school van in the Farmington area before retiring to Long Prairie in 2019. Susan and David ran a pork chop concession stand during the summer for many years.

Susan enjoyed spending time with family, outings with her daughters, gardening, going to the State Fair, attending high school football games, especially when watching her grandson’s team, Twins games and cooking for her family and friends. She will be remembered for her baking especially her banana bread, carrot cake and Christmas cookies. Susan was well loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Susan is preceded in death by mother, father, brother-in-law Dick Bentrup. Survived by her husband, David. Her daughters Bobbie (Dean) Halvorson and Stacee (Dan) Jergenson as well as her grandson Hunter Halvorson and David’s grandsons Max and Marcus. Sisters Carolyn McBride (Denny) and Linda Bentrup, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Lifelong friends, Sharon Lewis and Judy Kelly.
