Shirley Patricia Enstad

Shirley Patricia (Reed) Enstad passed away on April 1st, 2026, at Alomere Health at 91 years old. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at Shalom Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Kinkead Cemetery.

Shirley Patricia Enstad was born on October 16, 1934, in Kensington, Minnesota, to Virgil and Gunda (Gay) Reed. She grew up in the area and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1952. Shirley married Richard A. Enstad, and together they raised five children whom they deeply loved. Throughout her life, Shirley lived in several places including Alexandria, Le Sueur, and Elk River. In 1992, she and Richard returned to Alexandria to live in their home on Lake Darling and became members of Shalom Lutheran Church.

Shirley cherished time spent at the family cabin on Lake Le Homme Dieu. It was a special place where children, grandchildren, softball friends, and families gathered. She also enjoyed many hours at the home on Lake Darling, fishing with friends, swimming, and floating down the creek. Shirley had a passion for baking and gardening, filling her home with warmth.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and her brothers, Donald and Harold. She is survived by her two sisters, Linda (Gary) Sundberg and Ginger Floan. Shirley’s legacy continues through her five children, Vicki, Scott, Todd, Tracy, and Chad; grandchildren, Matt, Nicole, Sydney, Sarah, Carter, and Hannah; and nine great-grandchildren, Laura, Jace, Ivan, Kiera, Rylee, Braedon, Robert, Paylin, and Evelynn.
