Sharyl Jean Berg

Sharyl Jean (Donnan) Berg, age 70, of Osakis, MN, passed away on July 1, 2026. She was born on May 21, 1956, in Breckenridge, MN, to Earl and Betty Donnan.

Sharyl started off her journey in life after high school by attending beauty school in Fergus Falls, MN. After settling into Fergus, she met Edwin Berg and they were united in marriage on March 28, 1976. From this union they had their daughter, Christine.

Throughout her professional career, Sharyl worked at Menards, State Farm Insurance and finally settled into a full-time position with Farmers Coop Oil. She loved her job at “The Coop” working with all “the guys”. Sharyl always had a story to tell when she got home from work.

Sharyl will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. Sharyl enjoyed being a member at Trinity Lutheran Church and Our Saviour’s Church in Nelson MN, she loved the fellowship and built strong friendships with the congregations.

Sharyl cherished her family and siblings and loved to get together with them. She could be a little feisty at times, so Ed would always tell her before she left for work “be nice today”. Sharyl loved Tip Top ice cream and she would never pass up an invitation to go get ice cream. For the most part, she was a homebody and would never miss an episode of Judge Judy.

Sharyl is survived by her daughter, Chrissy (Charlie) Redetzke; siblings, Caryl Nack, Collen Fischer, Marleen Grunich, David Donnan and Peter Donnan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharyl was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty Donnan; and husband, Edwin Berg.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 18th, 2026, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Nelson, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service. Her family is grateful for the kindness and support shown during this time.
