Sallye Clare (Pagenkemper) Baumann was born October 22, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Doris (Braun) Pagenkemper. She graduated from Marple Newtown High School. She married the love of her life, Burnie Baumann, on September 25, 1965. They raised four children, Barbara, Edward, Christopher, and Deborah.
In 1975, Burnie and Sallye moved to Minnesota to take over the family farm. They raised dairy cattle and farmed crops. Sallye worked for many local businesses and built lasting friendships at each one.
Sallye had a talent and passion for art. She was a successful sign painter, and used that skill to build a business, Sallye B’s, in the 1980’s. Sallye loved personalizing items because she never had anything with her name on it when she was young. Hand painted items from Sallye B’s were very popular gifts for children’s birthday parties and celebrations.
Sallye also loved gardening and caring for plants and the outdoors. She was always happiest when she was digging in the dirt, caring for plants and making them thrive. Whether working or volunteering, horticulture always had a place in her heart.
Sallye loved animals. She rode ponies as a girl, raised Paint and Quarter Horses as an adult, and always had cookies in her pocket to share with her pasture ornaments. She was also a cat lover and was dedicated to her cat, Miss Kitty. Sallye was a kind and gentle spirit and was a caretaker all of her pets loved her for.
Sallye will be remembered for her tremendous strength and courage. She would boldly take on a challenge or adventure with determination. Sallye was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
