Ross Eric Anderson

October 3, 1958 — August 18, 2023

Memorial services for Ross Eric Anderson will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery after the funeral luncheon.

Ross Eric Anderson was born on October 3, 1958 in Alexandria, Minnesota to Lillian (Harbig) and Harold Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. In 1960, the family moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota where Ross started Kindergarten. He and his family eventually moved back to Alexandria, where he graduated high school in 1977. He then attended Alexandria Tech for Machine Tool and Die.

On November 12, 1977 Ross married his high school sweetheart, Roxane Krohnfeldt at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Leaf Valley. The two were blessed with two sons, Jeremiah and Justin. Becoming a grandpa was the biggest joy of his life; he was so proud of his granddaughters, Taylor and Kayla. He also loved spending time with his other family members, especially the many nieces and nephews who always treasured receiving special coins from their Uncle Ross.

During the summer months you could find Ross and Roxane enjoying as many miles as possible on the open road riding the Harley. He liked to share that his 2001 Electra Glide Standard had traveled to 30 different states. If he wasn't riding, he was finding pleasure in working with wood and creating family treasures. He also enjoyed fishing, both in a boat or on the ice. And, of course, every November you could find him deer hunting.

Because he needed to financially support his riding habit, Ross worked a variety of machining jobs around Alexandria. He and his family moved to Elk River in 1983 where he worked for Metal Craft Machine & Engineering until he retired in the spring of 2022.

After retiring, Ross and Roxane started making plans to move back home to Alexandria. This dream was just realized the end of this July. Sadly, this did not leave much time for them to enjoy their move together. On August 18, 2023 Ross passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Ross is preceded in death by his dad, Harold Anderson; brother, Stanley Anderson; and his mother and father-in-law, Rupert and Myna Krohnfeldt.

He will be missed dearly by his wife of over 45 years, Roxane Anderson of Alexandria; sons: Jeremiah (Marcy) Anderson of Monticello, MN, Justin Anderson of Flensburg, MN; granddaughters, Taylor Schultz and Kayla Anderson; mother, Lillian Anderson of Alexandria; sister, Kelly (Doug) Wald of Edgeley, ND; sisters-in-law: Debra Anderson, Pauline (Kevin) Weisel, Kathy Krohnfeldt (Rob Toso), Carla (John) Swenson; as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
