Rosemary Rehovsky

Rosemary Rehovsky, beloved matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on July 1, 1940, she grew up in Verona, North Dakota and attended the Catholic School in Hankinson where she graduated from in 1958. Rosemary furthered her education at Valley City Business School. 

She worked as a bookkeeper at several different businesses but the one she could never retire from was when she worked for her son, Dan. Rosemary will be remembered by the way she loved people. She taught us what unconditional love looks like. She taught us acceptance. She taught us kindness. She taught us that compassion should be given freely and that people are almost always worth understanding more than they are worth judging. She was the life of the party who loved sharing stories, and bringing laughter into every room she entered. She had a heart of gold, always saw the good in all things and loved beyond measure.

In her leisure time, Rosemary enjoyed starting every single day with her devotions and prayers for everyone, playing cards, crocheting, and indulging her creative side alongside her husband, Gary, as they crafted beautiful items together to share at craft shows. Together, they cherished winters in Arizona during their retirement, soaking in the sun and each other's company. Mostly though, she cherished every moment with her grandchildren, who were the light in her life! 

Rosemary’s family remembers her as a cherished source of love and wisdom. She is survived by her three sons: Jeff (Melanie) of Pelham, Alabama; Dan (Janine) of Kensington, Minnesota; and Bob (Jodi) of Alexandria, Minnesota. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Brooke Erickson, Brittany Rehovsky, Jacob Rehovsky, Alex (Nick) Bennewitz-Rehovsky, Taylor (Blake) Olhausen, Alei Rehovsky, Josh Rehovsky, Sydni Rehovsky, Dalton Schlegel, Jayden Schlegel, numerous nieces, nephews and honorary family, Marie & Duane Groneberg, Dotti & Mark Erickson, Lori Rehovsky. Rosemary also rejoices in the arrival of her future great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; her parents, James and Mary McCann; and her siblings: Veronica, Agnes, Bernice, Emma, Jim, and Barney. In honor of Rosemary’s remarkable life, cremation will take place, and her family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a celebration of her life. The family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time and asks that you keep Rosemary’s spirit alive through your memories and the joy she brought to so many. Rosemary will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Parish Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday, June 22, 2026, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
