Ronald Charles Boyden was born on June 13, 1938 to Charles and Bernadette (Weber) Boyden in St. Paul. He graduated from South St. Paul High School (Class of ’56) and enlisted in the U. S. Army (1958-1961). Upon returning home he met Marilyn McCollum and they were united in marriage on September 8, 1962. They were blessed with four children: Shelly, Mike, Randy, and Ron.
Ron worked at 3M for 38 years, including Cottage Grove, New Ulm, and St. Paul, until retiring in 1996. He enjoyed annual trips to the Boundary Waters, the cabin on Big Trade Lake, and his Harley Davidsons.
Ronald Charles Boyden, died peacefully on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria, MN at the age of 83 years old.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; son, Mike; son-in-law, Tim Skwira; granddaughter, Jessica Skwira; brother, Ken Boyden.
He is survived by his children: Shelly Skwira (fiancé John Blevins); Randy (Kayla) Boyden; Ron (Nichole) Boyden; daughter-in-law, Michelle Boyden; granddaughters: Lindsay, Tiffany, Haleigh, Vanna, Mia, Rachel, Kelly, Kate; great-grandchildren: Liam, Bella, Madelyn; brother, Bob (Sharon) Boyden.
A Celebration of Ronald’s Life will take place on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 1-3 pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of Douglas County.
