Robert "Rob" William Austin

Robert "Rob" William Austin, was born on November 19, 1984, in Minnesota. He sadly passed away on September 24, 2023, at St. Cloud Hospital. 

Rob grew up throughout Minnesota before settling down in Fargo, where he attended Fargo High School. During his time in high school, he excelled as a member of the wrestling and football teams. His dedication to sports was matched only by his passion for construction and his mastery of various trades. Known to be a jack of all trades and a tireless teacher of Par Kour, Rob's skills were never-ending.

In 2016, Rob had the fortune of crossing paths with his beloved fiancé, Jessica Johnson. Instantly becoming best friends, their bond grew stronger with each passing day. Together, they shared a love for raising Pomeranian dogs and found sheer joy in the presence of their cherished companion, dog Mya.

Rob's caring nature extended far beyond his immediate circle as he became a pillar of support for Jessica's children, Emily and Josh Johnson. After the devastating loss of their father in 2018, Rob stepped up with unwavering strength and love. He took it upon himself to be there for Emily and Josh during their most difficult times. One of their fondest memories together was playing football in the backyard—a testament to the beautiful bond they shared.

Family vacations were always cherished moments for Rob and his loved ones. Camping trips to Florida and Colorado brought them closer together while creating memories that will last a lifetime. These joyous adventures served as a reminder of the importance Rob placed on spending quality time with those who mattered most.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, John. He leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. Survived by his loving fiancé, Jessica, and her two children, Emily and Josh Johnson, Rob's impact on their lives is immeasurable.

In addition to Jessica and her children, Rob is survived by his brothers: David Austin, Anthony Hanson, and James Austin; sisters: Lisa Dock and Amber Austin. 

Rob formed connections not only with his immediate family but also with Jessica's parents: Margee and Jim Jahnke. Alongside them is her sister Rebecca Jahnke, her fiancé Jerard Hartwell, and their children Jenna, Gavin, and Emma.

Visitation will take place on October 5, 2023, at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, Minnesota from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.  Following the visitation, a Memorial Service will be at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. This service offers an opportunity for loved ones to come together to remember a life lived by Rob Austin. As we reflect on the memories shared with him, let us find solace in knowing that his spirit will forever live on within our hearts.
