Raymond Olson

Raymond “Ray” Earl Olson was born on January 16th, 1955 to Ardis “Schjei” and Earl Christ Olson at St. Lukes Hospital in Alexandria Minnesota.

He went to elementary school in Brandon and finished in Alexandria.

Ray chased the love of his life that he met at the local truck stop in 1994.  Ray and Nancy Ann Woida were united in marriage on May 8th, 1998 in Alexandria Minnesota.

He worked in manufacturing and owning a mobile washing business in his younger years. Most of his life was spent in the asphalt industry or driving truck. He has worked for the past 15 years for Morical Brothers Inc until his death.

He enjoyed ice fishing, cards and board games. He had always had a love for cars and motorcycles. He had a love for his farm animals and could just sit and talk to them for hours. He followed the Nascar circuit since he was young and still enjoyed it. He was involved with many race teams at the Viking Speedway and surrounding tracks over the years.

Ray Olson died on December 13th and is survived by his wife, Nancy Ann (Woida); sister, Susie (Mike) Oshie, of Everett, WA; half-brother, Earl Olson of Solway, MN; half-sister, Sheri Bjerk of Mahnomen; half-sister, Melissa Olson of Halsted, MN; half-sister, Melinda Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN; half-sister, Gale Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN; father/mother- in-law, Al and Betty Woida; brother-in-law, Sam (Michelle) Woida of Parkers Prairie,  MN; sister-in-law, Stacie (Jeff) Warren of Eagle Bend, MN; brother-in-law, Scott Woida of Bertha, MN; brother-in-law, Robin Woida of Rose City, MN; sister-in-law, Mary Woida of Wadena, MN; brother-in-law, Charlie (Erin) Woida of Steven’s Point, WI; sister-in-law, Jessica (John) Stone of Hawick, MN; sister-in-law, Roxanna (Tate) McManigle of Wadena, MN.

Ray had enjoyed many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He also had a special place in his heart for his God-children Scott Oshie; Donovan Warren; Page (Woida) Kinzle; and Lexi Stone.

He is preceded into death by his parents Ardis Schmidt and Earl Olson; half-sister, Linda Sue Olson; grand-nephews Brandon Oshie and Travis Warren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30th, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.
