Raymond (Ray) DeWayne Castonguay (66), of Alexandria, MN, passed away suddenly on January 4, 2023, at his home. Ray was born to Crenton Castonguay (1916-1992) and Amelia “Mitzi” Moos (1928-2006) on March 20, 1956, in Minneapolis, MN.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Barbara Irish (Nathan) and his two grandchildren, Eli and Ivy. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Julie), sister-in-law Linda, and nephews Daniel, Justin, and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his father Crenton, mother Mitzi, sister Phyllis, his beloved brother LaVerne and niece Nicole.
Ray was a lifelong die-hard Vikings fan, and was always trying to improve his golf game. He had a great sense of humor and was kind, loving, fun, and welcoming to all. In his latter years, he found great joy in his role as a grandfather. He was deeply beloved by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.
A celebration of life will be held at the Elk’s Lodge in Alexandria on February 4 from 1-3 p.m. Ray’s family will hold a celebration of life for his Twin Cities friends and family in the spring, with details forthcoming. For those that would like to honor Ray, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.
