Paula Lee Uhde, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Reasor) Schultz, was born on August 4, 1949 in Mankato, Minnesota. Paula spent her childhood years in Mankato, Texas and in Parkers Prairie. She graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1967 and then met the love of her life, Gary Uhde. They were united in marriage on August 12, 1967 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie, MN. The couple lived in various areas before making Alexandria their home in 1984. Three children were born to this marriage, Michelle, Greg, and Chris and Paula stayed at home to raise her children. After the children had left home, Paula began working as a baker and cook for Bayfield’s Restaurant in the Viking Mall. She baked the famous cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, and the bars, the restaurant was known for. Paula also worked at Bethany on the Lake as a housekeeper for a few years.
Paula was a hardworking, caring, loving, and compassionate woman. She was a great cook and baker and made sure no one left hungry from her house during holiday get togethers. Paula had eye for decorating. She would take a dull room and make it perfect by placing a picture here or a lamp there. Paula enjoyed traveling, she visited Branson, Missouri, Texas, Mexico, and South Dakota with her husband Gary. The most important part of Paula’s life was her children and grandchildren. She loved them all and was always willing to babysit, play with them or sit and visit with them. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
