Patrick Lee Ballard was born on July 1, 1965, to William and Lela (Resley) Ballard in International Falls, MN. When Patrick was 13, he and his family moved to Alexandria. As a child, he enjoyed making forts with his siblings out of cardboard boxes, magic tricks, playing night games, and he especially loved Smoky the Bear Park on the 4th of July.
Throughout his life, Patrick lived at Prairie Community Services and the Fleetwood Home, attended a day program with Productive Alternatives (formerly Alexandria Opportunities Center) and was always willing to try new things. He liked traveling and went on many tours with Search Beyond. He always had to have the best Halloween costumes and they were often very creative and original. Patrick enjoyed spending as much time with his family as he could and was especially happy that he lived near his brother, Raymond. He liked watching movies, bowling, country music, fishing, and watching sports and game shows, especially Let’s Make a Deal. Patrick loved to be social and would talk to anyone that would listen. He was easy-going, could find the good in anybody, and had a good sense of humor. Faith was important to Patrick and he believed that Jesus was always watching out for him.
Patrick Lee Ballard went to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Alomere Health at the age of 56. He is survived by his mother, Lela Ballard; siblings, Deanna Knudson, Carolyn Fedorak, Rosemary (Bob) Beitz, James (Bernadette) Ballard, William Ballard (JR), Rebecca (Mario) Chavez, Andrea (Michael) Kelnhofer, and Raymond Ballard; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special caregivers, Erik and Dawn Filipiak and family, and the caregivers at the Fleetwood House. He was preceded in death by his father, William Ballard; and brother-in-law, Larry Knudson.
Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Anderson Funeral Home.
