Patricia "Pat" Fearing

Patricia Ann (Whiting) Fearing was born in Clitherall, Minnesota, on July 21, 1935. Daughter of Alan & Hazel (Mettling) Whiting. She later moved to Erdahl, Minnesota and graduated from Evansville High School.

Pat moved to Alexandria, Minnesota, and on March 2, 1957, she was united in marriage to her soulmate Gerald Fearing. The couple later moved to Hawaii due to Gerald's deployment, where they lived for 18 months before returning to Alexandria where they would raise their three children and live happily ever after.

A woman of immense talent and dedication, Patricia had been sewing for over 70 years. Throughout her life, she lovingly made clothes coats, and various items for her kids, family, and community including her own wedding dress. She worked as a seamstress in her home for decades and her care was very apparent to all who knew her. She also shared her vibrant spirit with others through her love of square dancing at the VFW.

On August 6th, 2026 at the age of 91, Pat passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children: Tim (Debbie) Fearing, Shelley (Kyle) Diekman, and Scott (Charlotte) Fearing; 8 grandchildren: Jeremy (Kayla) Fearing, Joshua (Kendra) Fearing, Jesslyn (Wade) Traphagen, Pamela Wilson, Katie (Tyler) Malotky, Gordon (Danielle) Diekman, Kylie (Nate) Vold, Nolan Zumhofe; 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and 2 sisters: Hope & Sharon (John).

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with visitation continuing on Monday, August 24th, 2026, 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria with Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Burial at Kinkead Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of Douglas County.
