It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Opal Muth, aged 90, on October 28th, surrounded by her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and treasured friend, Opal lived a life marked by kindness, grace, and quiet strength.

Born on January 9th, 1935 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Ruby and Lee Davison, second generation Irish immigrants and farmers. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated from Tintah High School in 1953. While continuing her college education, she married her husband Ervin on August 27,1955. They moved to Mound, Minnesota in 1962 where they raised their four children. Opal’s intellect and commitment to education resulted in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. She taught for 30 years at Mound-Westonka schools and made an indelible difference in the lives of her special education students.

Opal loved spending time with her family and friends in Mound, at their lake home on Lobster Lake (later their permanent home) and their winter home in Mesa, Arizona. Opal was an accomplished bridge player and sought after partner in multiple weekly bridge leagues.
