Mildred Kluver

July 30, 1931 — November 4, 2020

Alexandria, Minnesota

Mildred Ann Kluver, the daughter of Andrew and Mathilda (Daas) Debilzen, was born on the family farm in Urbank, Minnesota on July 30, 1931.  She attended country school and then babysat for neighbors before moving to Alexandria.  Mildred worked at Traveler’s Inn and lived in an apartment above the restaurant.  It was there, she met the love of her life, ArDean Kluver.  They were united in marriage on September 16, 1953, and lived on the family farm where they raised their four children: Deborah, William, Dean, and Kimberly.  Millie worked hard on the family farm milking cows and always lending a hand when needed.  She was a caring, loving mother and the heart of the family.

Millie’s family was the most important part of her life.  Her love for ArDean was immense and endless as there was not a day that she didn’t miss him after his passing in 2019.  She was dedicated to caring for him during his battle with Alzheimer’s so he could remain on the family farm and she could be with him everyday.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren unconditionally.  The best days for Millie were when family visited even if for a short time.  She was an excellent cook and baker.  The smell of fresh baked bread, delicious desserts, cookies, and good old fashion cooking will be memories her family will always cherish.

She was always busy doing something in her spare time.  She enjoyed entertaining; visiting family and friends; going to dances; hunting and fishing with ArDean; snowmobiling; playing softball; and attending weekly mass as faith was an important part of her life.  Millie was a generous woman who always put others first.  She was a kind, compassionate, strong woman, with a good sense of humor.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mildred A. Kluver died on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at her home at Edgewood Vista in Alexandria at the age of 89 years old.  She is survived by her sons: William “Bill” (Judy) Kluver and their children Jesse and Cody Kluver; Dean (Lori) Kluver and their children Kelly Kluver, Joey Bergs, Billy and Ben Kluver; daughters: Deborah (Ronald) Kluver and their children Heidi Robinson and Travis Kluver; Kim (Rich) Goerger and their children Jessica and Krista Goerger; eight great grandchildren.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Joe Debilzen and Ray Debilzen, and sisters, Catherine Wagner and Mary Suchy.
