Michelle Reents

Michelle Reents of Glenwood, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 30, 2026.

Michelle Lynnette (Rood) Reents was welcomed into the world by her parents Arnold and Laura on February 27,1970, in Farmington, MN. Michelle was baptized at the University of Minnesota and again at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eagan. She confirmed her faith at South Lake Johanna Lutheran Church in Brooten. She spent her youth playing with dolls, listening to music, exploring outside, and hanging with friends. In 1983 she moved to the family farm in Brooten, MN and graduated from BBE High School. During that time, she became passionate about horseback riding and made several lifelong friends.

She cherished time spent helping people, which inspired her to attend Ridgewater College and earn her LPN. She built a career in nursing, which brought her to Glenwood. She worked in various roles including nursing homes, critical pediatric care, hospitals, and clinics. One of her professional achievements was strengthening healthcare through the West Central Minnesota Healthcare Preparedness Coalition. That led her into other non nursing roles, and she worked in Accounts Payable – Payroll at Stryhn in Glenwood.

While working in Glenwood, Michelle met her soulmate, Jason Reents. Jay and Michelle got married on August 30,1997 at Glenwood Lutheran Church. They raised four boys together, Brandon, Kyle, Kameron, and Karter. Michelle’s family was truly one of her greatest joys. She treasured her boys’ activities, which included taekwondo, guitar, baseball, football, and racing. She was proud of her boys and loved them very much! Family time during the holidays was also at the top of her list. Michelle, through her friendliness, fun-loving nature, and good heart, made lifelong friendships. She had a lot of love in her heart and will be deeply missed by loved ones.

Michelle is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jason Reents; her children: Brandon (Crystal) Luedeke, Kyle Syverson, Kameron Rood-Drange, and Karter Reents; parents, Arnold and Esther Rood; father in law, Roger Reents; siblings, Donny Rood, Deb (Ross) Johnson, and Kelly Reents; grandkids: Riaden, Naomi, Gwen, and Parker; niece Marissa (Mitch) Dotas; nephew Zach Johnson; and many more family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Laura Rood; God parents, Paul and Sonja Beltz; grandparents, Otto and Nora Beltz, Edwin and Irene Rood; mother-in-law, Patricia Reents.
