Michael Ralph Ziegelman, age 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5th, 2025, in his home in Garfield MN.
Mike was born on November 10th, 1947, in Alexandria, to Ralph and Audrey Ziegelman. He grew up in Garfield and attended school in Garfield and Brandon. After graduating from Brandon High School, he attended college at NDSCS. He also proudly served in the United States Army Reserves for six years. At the time of his service, he also was employed at Ottertail Power company. He purchased his grandfather’s farm in the early 70’s. Along with farming, he also worked for Rosens and the USPS where he eventually retired from. On August 27th, 2011, Michael married Cindy Siegel in Garfield and built a house there the same year.
Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors farming and hunting, visiting with friends and family, and happy hours with friends in town. You could often find him cruising around town on his side x side, having coffee with the locals at Cenex, or having breakfast with the guys. Mike was a very jolly and generous man who had a laugh that was not only contagious but also unmistakable. His witty sarcasm will be missed. He was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings and loved watching old western shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Audrey Ziegelman, and his wife, Cindy Ziegelman. Michael is survived by his brother, Thomas (Larae) Ziegelman; Step-son son Troy Christiansen; grandchildren Victoria (Levi) Bergquist and Michael Christiansen; nephew Trent (Barb) Ziegelman; niece Casey (Matthew) Ruckheim; and great-nephews and nieces Sharayah, Caleb, Logan, and Ashton Slavik, and Audrey, Isaac, and Levi Ruckheim.
