L. Brian Peterson, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories. He was born Lyall Brian Peterson on July 18, 1952, in Alexandria Minnesota to parents Lyall Elmo and Mary Elizabeth (Carey) Peterson.
He graduated from Alexandria High School and furthered his education at St. Cloud State University.
From his first marriage Brian had a daughter Christina Miller. He later went on to wed Laura Ostlund in 1989 at St Mary's Church. They shared their life together for 24 years until Laura’s passing in 2013.
Together Brian and Laura ran their advertising business from their Lake Brophy home that they shared with many beloved retrievers.
Brian was involved in the community; he served as a member on the Kinkead Cemetery Board, he was also a member of the Elks, the Lake Association, and many other community contributions over the years. As of late, Brian enjoyed regular Wednesday nights with old & new friends at Interlachen Inn.
Brian had many loves, firstly his wife Laura, their canine companions, pontooning and exploring our beautiful lakes, traveling, and always loved a good conversation.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents Lyall and Mary Peterson, his cherished wife Laura Peterson, and his sisters Connie Peterson and Kathleen Kovar along with other relatives and friends who held a special place in his heart.
Brian leaves behind a loving legacy that continues through those who survive him. His sister Mary Jo (Gary Franklin), daughter Christina (Greg) Miller, grandchild Rowan Miller, nephew John (Katie) Kovar, great-nieces Ellie and Clara Kovar, great-nephew Jack Kovar, sister-in-law Julie Rambow (David Kneeland), nephew Adam Rambow, great-niece Ava Rambow, great-nephews Arlo and August Rambow, along with many other relatives. Last but not least, his loyal companion and a man’s best friend, Ali-Elsa.
Brian's life will be honored with a 10:00 a.m. Visitation at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Kinkead Cemetery on the same day.
As we bid farewell to Brian in the physical realm, let us carry forward the memories of his friendship, laughter, wisdom, and warmth in our hearts. May he rest in eternal peace knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
