Louise M. Revering was born on October 10, 1934, to Henry & Anna (Daas) Revering near Urbank, MN. She was baptized, confirmed & went to parochial school at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. Louise worked for neighbors and at a local drug store before moving to Minneapolis where two of her sisters were living. While working to support herself she earned her GED and Bachelor’s Degree. Louise joined the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity and took her final vows in New York City. Later she lived in Green Bay, WI, where she honed her skills at managing and helping young women to live peacefully together. She had a strong voice for those who were in need and what she believed in. She later moved to Buffalo, MN and worked with the Church of St. Michael. She lived the remainder of her years in Alexandria, MN where she became very involved with many different groups at St Mary’s Church. She actively supported all movements regarding the lives of the unborn & accompanying others on their spiritual journey.
In her spare time Louise loved gardening & fishing with her brother on Lake Ida. She enjoyed singing with the Geneva Bells, and playing cards with friends & relatives.
Louise passed away on September 20, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Daniel, Roberta, Clara, Frank, Josephine, Martin, Aaron, and Alice; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Zavadil, John Hoppe & Dorothy Revering; and niece & nephew, Diane Revering and Ryan Hoppe.
Louise is survived by siblings, Helen (Tom) Lorenz of Duluth; Sister Mary Revering of Baltimore, MD; Hank (Elsie) Revering of Garfield, Clem Revering of Alexandria; sisters-in-law, Sharon Revering of Alexandria; Donna Revering of Mound; and 28 nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all her friends and family. She was a friend to many wherever she went.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Church of St. Mary in Alexandria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church with Rosary starting at 9:00 AM. Interment will take place at St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
