Leola Ida (Zarn) Krueger, was born on June 2, 1934, to Albert and Lydia (Ost) Zarn in Leaf Valley Township, Douglas County, MN. She lived a life filled with love, faith, and cherished moments.
Growing up on a farm near Rose City, Leola developed a strong work ethic. Alongside her parents and sister Lucy, she helped on the family farm and later worked in a bakery during her teenage years. On September 5, 1959, Leola was united in marriage to Delbert Krueger of Leaf Valley at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
Leola and Delbert raised their four children, Wayne, Willis, Wendy, and Wanda, on the Krueger farm in Leaf Valley. Leola's commitment to her family was unwavering, as she embraced her role as a loving wife and nurturing mother. She worked tirelessly on the farm, cleaning cabins, and cooking. She was known for her mouthwatering home-cooked meals, particularly her signature deep-fried chicken (better than Kentucky Fried Chicken). She had a big garden that allowed her to provide her family with fresh produce and engage in the joy of canning.
In addition to her love of cooking, Leola enjoyed exploring flea markets, spending time outdoors, singing, fishing, bingo, and playing cards. Leola relished the company of others, always making guests feel welcome and cherished. Her infectious smile lit up any room and her compassionate heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
