Leila Hanson

Leila Mae (Peterson) Hanson was born March 26,1926 in Brandon Township to Edwin and Emma (Hedeen) Peterson. She attended Brandon area schools for her education. On May 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to Conrad Hanson at the West Moe Parsonage. To this union five children were born: Ray, Howard, Dwayne, Charlie, and Anita. Leila was a homemaker all her life, but always a mother first. She took care of the household, helped around the farm all while raising her five children. Conrad passed away in 1995. Leila remained on the farm until she was 89 years old before moving into the Evansville Care Center.

Leila was a longtime member at West Moe Lutheran Church where she was very active in church activities and programs. She also liked to stay active in the Brandon community by volunteering and joining various groups.

Leila Hanson died on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in Evansville, MN at the age of 95 years. She is survived by her children: Ray (Rosie) Hanson, Howard (Ardelle) Hanson, Dwayne (Renee) Hanson, and Anita (Jim) Allison; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and one on the way; and her sister: Millie Floding. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Conrad; her son: Charlie; 3 brothers: Ralph, Donald, and Lloyd Peterson; and 1 sister: Irene Chattin.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021, at West Moe Lutheran Church in Brandon, MN.  Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at the Anderson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
