LaVonne Hildebrandt

LaVonne Lois (Londin) Hildebrandt was born on April 30, 1927, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Oscar and Vandala (Hogberg) Londin.  She graduated from Johnson High School in St. Paul.  LaVonne went to work as a clerk for Northern Pacific Railroad.

LaVonne was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Hildebrandt on September 10, 1949, at Gustavus Adolphus in St. Paul.  The couple lived in St. Paul for three years before moving to Billings, Montana.  The family moved back to Cottage Grove, Minnesota for a short time before moving to Alexandria in 1982.

LaVonne enjoyed working with her brother, George in his green house in St. Paul.  She also enjoyed flower gardening, hunting, fishing, bird watching, spending time on the lake, camping, sewing and golfing, where she even got a hole in one.  LaVonne was a member of the Eastern Stars and Shalom Lutheran Church.  She was a caring and loving, wife and mother.

LaVonne died on Friday, August 13, 2021, at The Galeon in Osakis at the age of 94, under the care of Hospice of Douglas County.  She is survived by her husband, Bob Hildebrandt; son, James (Darla) Hildebrandt; grandson, Ryan Hildebrandt; and many nieces and nephews.  LaVonne was preceded in death by her daughter, Teri Hildebrandt; son, Daniel Hildebrandt; parents, Oscar and Vandala; brothers, Bob, Warren, and George Londin; and infant sister.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Shalom Lutheran Church in Alexandria.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.  A live stream and recording of the service will be available 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, on the funeral home website.
