Laura M. Wagner

Laura Marie Wagner, the daughter of Fredrick and Wanda (Ihlenfeld) Fiebranz, was born on December 27, 1929, in Alexandria, Minnesota.  She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria, where she attended Zion Lutheran School through the eighth grade.  She continued her education by attending Morris Ag College for two years. 

Laura was united in marriage to Charles E. Wagner on January 15, 1950, in Alexandria and four children were born to this union, Donna Jean, Steven, David, and Robert.  Together they lived in the Alexandria and Brandon area for 15 years while Charles worked.  In 1968, Laura and Charles purchased the Hardware Store in Appleton, MN, where they worked side by side.  After Charles died of a sudden heart attack in 1979, Laura remained in Appleton for a number of years before moving back to Alexandria in 1995. 

Laura loved sewing and quilting.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was involved with many church groups.  Laura loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her well.

Laura M. Wagner, age 93 of Alexandria, MN, died on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Alomere Health in Alexandria.  She is survived by her son, Steven Wagner of Inver Grove Heights; daughter-in-law, Deb Wagner of Delano; six grandchildren, Amy Wagner Ackman, Jackie Bymark, Bridget O’Bryne, Sara Trebtoske, Cody Wagner, and Jesse Wagner; 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Wagner; daughter, Donna Jean Wagner; sons, David Wagner and Robert Wagner; two brothers, and 3 sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria.

A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. 

Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Garfield, MN
