Kenneth “Kenny” Orie Miller was born on March 25, 1953, to Leo and Pearl (Hesse) Miller in Sauk Centre, MN. He grew up in West Port/Sauk Centre, MN area and was raised in the Lutheran faith.
After graduating high school, Kenny joined the Army and was stationed in Panama and Texas. After being honorably discharged in 1975, he worked as a mechanic in the twin cities. While living in the twin cities, Kenny met Jennifer Williams and they were married in 1990. To this union, Kenny became a step-father to 3 children, Karla, Lucas, and Katherine Sasse. The couple was blessed with 2 more daughters, Coral and Ann, and they raised their family in the Alexandria area. Kenny worked as a mechanic at Juno Manufacturing and Cenex, and helped out at the Coffee Pot.
Throughout his life, Kenny enjoyed camping in Nimrod, fishing, watching NASCAR and old western movies, playing dice and cards, and could always be found tinkering with something. After he was diagnosed with cancer, Kenny and his daughters checked a few items off his bucket list like visiting the Grand Canyon and The House on the Rock in Wisconsin, and attending a Rolling Stones concert. Kenny’s friends were very important to him and he enjoyed every minute spent with them. He had a calm demeanor, was a great listener and a man of few words. Kenny was always willing to help others and never made anything about himself.
