Kathy Diane Stowe

January 14, 1963 — April 15, 2024

Alexandria

Kathy was born on January 14th, 1963, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of James and Marlene (Reintsma) Licht.  At a young age the family moved to Alexandria.  She enjoyed sports and music and participated in basketball, orchestra and Rainbow Strings. Kathy graduated from Alexandria High School in 1981.

After high school she enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1983.  Upon her discharge she moved back to Alexandria where she found her passion for cooking and became the Banquet Chef at Arrowwood Resort.

In 2007 she was united in marriage to Charles Stowe.  After their marriage the couple moved to Park Rapids where Kathy worked as a cook at the Boy Scout Camp and enjoyed fishing with Charlie on the area lakes.  The couple later moved to Hollister, Missouri to get to a warmer climate.  In 2018, Charlie passed away and Kathy moved back to Alexandria to be close to her family.

Kathy had a deep love for the Lord and was very disciplined in reading her Bible and loved listening to Christian music. She was also a very giving person and willing to help people whenever a need arose.

Watching cooking shows, especially Gordon Ramsey and spending time with family and friends was important to Kathy. With her great understanding of cooking, she loved sharing her skills and food with everyone.

Kathy passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, April 15th 2024.  She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Stapleton; grandson, Emmanuel Tello; sister, Karen (Dale) Wibstad; sister-in-law Anne; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; parents James and Marlene; brothers, Jeff and Doug.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery with Military Honors.   In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Wounded Warrior Project.
