Kathryn Glee Hoppe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 82 at St. Williams Care Center in Parkers Prairie, MN. Born on February 8, 1943, in Alexandria, MN, she was the daughter of Walter and Lucille Wilke. Kathryn attended School District #55 in Miltona and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1961 in Alexandria before furthering her education at St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing, where she proudly became a Registered Nurse.
On August 22nd, 1964, she married the love of her life, Maynard Hoppe, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona. The two of them built a life filled with love and hard work. They initially settled in Minneapolis, where Kathryn worked at Mount Sinai Hospital until 1968, when they made the decision to return to Miltona. She then took her caring nature from the hospital to her home, working at Mercy Hospital in Alexandria until 1973, when she dedicated herself to raising their boys, Mike and John, and helping Maynard on the farm. Life on the farm kept Kathryn very busy. She cared for the calves, helped in the fields, cleaned the barns, and cooked up delicious meals for her family, all while keeping a positive and loving spirit. After they sold the farm and entered retirement, they moved to Lake Osakis, creating countless memories with family and especially their grandchildren. Even in retirement, Kathryn's caring nature shone through as she worked at Diamond Willow as a care attendant for a few years.
Kathryn's commitment to her faith was unwavering. She was an active member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, where she volunteered her time, sharing her skills and love with others. When she wasn’t caring for her family or contributing to her community, you could find her creatively capturing memories through her scrapbooking, crafting cherished keepsakes for friends and family.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
Kathryn leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Maynard Hoppe; sons, Mike (Kathy) Hoppe and John (Shelly) Hoppe; grandchildren, Tyler (Kali) Hoppe, Brady (Allison) Hoppe, Carter Hoppe, Samantha Hoppe, Robert Hoppe, and Joseph Hoppe; great grandchildren, Jackson, James, and baby Hoppe (due in August); siblings Karrie ( special friend Sharon) Sinkovich, Jeff (Judy) Wilke, Dave (Cathy) Wilke, Wendy Johnson, Emily (Dick) Steinert, Murray (Cindy) Wilke numerous in laws, nieces, and nephews.
